IT ONLY WORKS IF YOU WORK IT AND SHE IS WORKING IT!

Updated: Sep 4, 2020

Meet Dawn A. a member of a Twelve Step fellowship and part of the Yoga4Sobriety community. Today I asked Dawn a few questions about her journey within the Yoga4Sobriety program.

Dawn began her journey taking Yoga4Sobriety classes on and off since 2014. In the past year she has jumped in head first taking in as many practices and workshops as she can.

In addition to her weekly class schedule Dawn has done the Chakra Balancing Bootcamp, Pendulum Use Levels 1 & 2, EFT (tapping), Shifting Out of Sluggishness and Settling Into Serenity, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, and has all the free worksheets from the HOME PRACTICE pages.

Dawn has found being part of a positive recovery focused community, participating in positive actions and activities, and the physical benefits of yoga to be helpful. The physical improvements she has been able to identify most are increased strength and tone, a reduction in aches and pains, and an overall improvement in her mental health.

Her favorite tools to date are breathwork and the physical practice of yoga. Dawn's 2 top favorite poses are plow and downward facing dog. That wasn't always the case though. When she first began her practice her hands and wrists would hurt in downward dog and there was a struggle to hold the posture. Today, Dawn says she can hold much longer, without the pain and discomfort she once experienced.

Thank you Dawn for being part of our community and sharing your journey with us!
